Travel & Accommodations
🛩 Airport
For the couple folks who will be joining us from out of town, we recommend flying in and out of Norfolk International Airport (ORF).
🏰 Hotel
Ye olde Bride and Groom will be lodging at The Historic Cavalier Hotel & Beach Club, which is a beautiful hotel at the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. Because of our small sized wedding, we do not have any hotel blocks reserved.
If you’d like other hotel options in the Norfolk or Virginia Beach area, please reach out to us and we will help you find something!
🚙 Transportation
Ubers and Lyfts are available in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas. Rental cars are also an option if you’d like to be mobile!
Important: We will be providing optional wedding guest transportation (hellooo party bus) to and from the Cavalier on Saturday, September 26th. More about this can be found on our schedule and in our FAQs, below.
Wedding Day FAQs
What’s the dress code?
Colorful cocktail! We’re getting married in a garden, so feel free to embrace color, texture, florals, late summer brights.
If you want to be extra, be extra. If you want to be understated, be understated. If black is your color, wear black.
We love you!
Bus? Party bus?
We wanted to offer our guests a simplified transportation option since we are making everyone change locations 😋. However, the bus is totally optional and if you would rather drive yourself/your family — that is 100% allowed! There is parking available at Norfolk Botanical Gardens and Blanca.
Day-of Digital Detox?
We will have two world class photographers present at our wedding — capturing it all so you don’t have to stress about photos! We will share access to all wedding media as soon as it becomes available.
We specifically would like to ask to have no phones out during our ceremony to maximize the intimacy and presence of this very small wedding.
Are kids welcome?
Kids are a wonderful part of our life and they are 100% welcome at our wedding and dinner reception (and all wedding events)! For our wedding, we specifically chose the Butterfly Garden location at NBG because it provides lots of space for the youths to run wild during cocktail hour.
One note: Please let us know if your kiddos have specific dietary needs for dinner. We will work with Blanca to create some kid-friendly options and would value your input.
